Synch is proud to have advised Grangex AB in connection with its extended royalty agreement with Anglo American, representing an additional USD 9.5 million in funding for the continued development of the Sydvaranger iron ore project in Northern Norway.
This extended agreement strengthens the parties’ existing collaboration and forms a critical milestone in securing financing for the planned restart of operations at the Sydvaranger mine. The funds will primarily be used to complete the ongoing feasibility study, advance the project financing process, and support general working capital needs.
The extension follows previous agreements between the parties, including the initial USD 17.5 million royalty agreement for Sydvaranger announced in May 2024, and the reallocation of the USD 10 million royalty from the Dannemora project earlier this year. With the new extension, Anglo American’s total contribution through royalty agreements to the Sydvaranger project now amounts to USD 27.5 million.
